Serica Partners Asia Limited is staffed with an experienced team led by founder and CIO Ivan Lee. Ivan has more than 25 years of credit investment expertise in Asia. Ivan Lee – Founder & CIO

Before launching the Serica Credit Balanced Fund, Ivan was Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Strategy & Analysis, Asia-Pacific, for 11 years at Citigroup, where he led an award-winning team of over 15 analysts across the region. He co-established the Asian distressed business which was later spun off to become the Asian Special Situations Group. During his tenure at Citi, Ivan built the firm’s fixed income research team to become one of the best in Asia. His team was ranked #1 Fixed Income Research House five times between 2003 and 2008 by Finance Asia. Ivan personally was ranked #1 or #2 Fixed Income Analyst six times between 2000 and 2008.

Prior to Citigroup, Ivan was with Peregrine Investment Limited from 1996 to 1998, where he was Head of Credit Research. He gained first-hand experience in dealing with countries and corporates that headed into distress during the Asian financial crisis. Between 1992 and 1996, Ivan worked at JP Morgan in New York and Hong Kong where he started his credit research career.

Ivan is a bankruptcy accountant by training. He worked at Ernst & Young in the late 1980s where he had extensive experience in insolvency, fraud investigation and litigation.

Ivan earned his BBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is a CFA, CPA (US), and CPA (HK).

Brali Chung – COO

Prior to Serica, Brali was Senior Vice President at Citigroup Global Markets Asia Limited, where he had worked since 1989. Brali was the first operations hire in Asia at Salomon Brothers.

Brali was instrumental in setting up operations for multiple branch offices and established their membership at local exchanges throughout Asia. Additionally, he managed six different departments during his time at Citi, including Syndicate Operations (all IPOs and syndication), International Operations (covering fixed income, equities, and derivative products), Hong Kong Brokerage Operations, Hong Kong Futures Operations, Corporate Actions, Reconciliation & Risk Control, and Prime Brokerage Operations covering all Pacific Rim markets in Non-Japan Asia.
